The Chairman
of the Verkhovna Rada noted that he considers the formation of values ??that form the core ideological identity,
serve as guidelines in life and business – the main subject of
education. “Together we build new, democratic country for
people of democratic views and aspirations, youth that has to build society in
the spirit of tolerance, honesty, sensitivity,
conscience, respect for life and human
rights, and other humanistic and
moral values,” he said.
The Chairman of the Parliament believes that undervaluation of pedagogical component in education inevitably leads to gaps in formation of a personality. “This is where begin such problems as cult of power, money, and consumerism, as well as antisocial lifestyle causing reasonable concern in the Ukrainian society,” he said and provided opinion poll data, under which more than 40% of the citizens of Ukraine are concerned with the spread of drug use, alcoholic beverages, manifestations of amorality, lack of spirituality and early sexual activity among pupils.

He believes that neither indifferent, nihilistic attitude to legal norms, nor insufficient respect to the Constitution and laws of the state should be formed in the youth environment. “Overcoming of these negative phenomenon, as well as bringing up young people in the spirit of mutual trust, respect and assistance should be the top priority of activity of the Ukrainian school on all stages of education,” he stressed.
